Aloha Friends,

My wife and I are longtime Steelers fans living in Hawaii now. Hawaii is great, but, sadly, not every Steeler game is on local TV (Can you imagine)?!!! ;-)

For the past few seasons, we have gone to a local sports bar to watch the games, but we have young children now and that is not a suitable option. I can't/don't want to pay several hundred dollars to my local cable company for the NFL package that they offer. Our money is too tight these days for that anyway. We only want to watch the Steeler games, nothing else.

I am guessing that I could probably find the games on some illegal downloading site, but I don't want to do that. A friend offered to mail me videotapes of the games, but they'd take at least four days to get here and I can't hide from the sports world for four days just so I don't hear the outcome before I get a chance to watch.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a way I can watch the Steeler games here in Hawaii? It doesn't have to be live. but within a day or so would be great.

I've heard that one can watch TV remotely on something called a Slingbox, but I've never used one. I have a computer and I'm pretty savvy. Is TiVo a possibility?

A solution would make these Steeler fans happy, happy, happy.

Thanks in advance,
Thad

Aloha Steeler fan.  Hope you can fight off that island syndrome they talk about, lol.  Anyway, there is something I guess is new, others here might be able to speak to that, but it does seem legal as it shows all the regular commercials, etc.  It's called  www.Justin.TV  The last two preseason games were on.  You definitely need a good internet connection.  I live in the boonies, so I know.  Two weeks ago it streamed just fine for me, but last weekend my connection was week and it was unwatchable.  One note about it - don't bother trying to find the game listed at the sight until just before kickoff.  I don't think it wasn't listed as coming up until about 10 mins before game time last week.. Good Luck.  I hope this helps.
