RIP Steve McNair

I loved watching this guy play. He gave 100% every game and noone wanted to win more than he did. He was one of the toughest guy you will ever see in sports, always playing through injuries and putting his body on the line.  He always seemed to have our number and for a period of time from the late 90s to the mid 2000s he was one top 3 quarterbacks in the NFL.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

You never wish this upon anyone.  I do find it a shame that people have to resort to this type of violence.  My thoughts to his family as well.

He definately played the Steelers well and gave us lots of headaches

thru out his Titan career. Wrong place at wrong time sounds like.

What is the reported chronological events at this point?

I understand that he was in the former teamate shared apartment with the 20 year old female.  Is it anything he has been reported to have been involved with or something to do with the female?  I understand that he was shot multiple times with one being a headshot and the female had one (similar type?) headshot.

I am only curious about this because the case seems so random at this point.

At first they were calling it a double homicide. Then some stuff on the internet was asking whether it was a murder-suicide.  I first wondered: Was there a weapon on the scene? And, if so, where was it? Now a police spokesman has reported that they did not see a gun when first entering the scene because it was under the woman's body. Other statements in early reports have also been contradicted, for example, it appears that the condo was in the name of McNair's friend Wayne Neeley, not the woman as earlier reported, and either co-owned by McNair, or just used by him when he was in that area (it is reported to be near the restaurant McNair owned). Also reportedly, Neeley revealed that it was he who discovered the bodies and asked a friend to make the 911 call. So the first call did not really come from an unknown source.  There is, however, still so much stuff going around, that these later reports may also be tainted by the rush to get the scoop. Whatever the story, McNair was a great football player.

I was really saddened when I heard about this yesterday. I always joked with a close friend of mine that he was McNair's twin. This guys was so tough, so well respected I couldn't help but to like him as a player. To lose your life at 36 is horrible and comes way too quickly. He was one of my favorite players and I really wanted the Titans to win that SB against the Rams because of McNair and George...
RIP Steve - you will be missed

He should have been at home with his wife and kids instead of meeting a 20 year old girl in a condo.
