Under Coach Cowher the Steelers practically ruled Monday Night Football. Something about the night games in prime-time made the Steelers turn it up a notch. If I remember correctly the Steelers went for a stretch of 10 games on MNF without a loss. The record since then has been equally impressive. No matter the state of the team or the record of the competition when it came to MNF the Steelers just don't lose. When the switch was made to Sunday night being the marquee match-up and ESPN taking over MNF the Steelers winning ways continued on Monday while Sunday was more of an even split. I still to this day tell people who doubt the Steelers, I don't care if they did get s(bad word)acked the week before or what key player went down with an injury, the Steelers don't lose on Monday night.
So all that aside some of my most memorable Steelers moments happened on MNF. The best one for me was watching the steady stream of bodies being taken to the dressing room to treat various injuries during a game between the Bills and the Steelers. The defense knocked out Kelly, Reed, laid a hurting on Thomas and saw the Bills defense being manhandled by the Steelers power run game. I want to say a total of seven Bills left the field that game and to this day that is the kind of Steelers football I want to see. Not permanent injury mind you but guys not being able to stand up to 60 minutes of Steelers football.
So what is your favorite MNF Steelers memory?
Disclaimer: This is sort of a fun thing to pass the time since the board has gotten kinda dark latelyhttp://media3.steelers.com/Images/design/mboard/emotions/4%5B1%5D.gif |

I know for sure we lost to the Horshoes this exact weekend last year when Manning lobbed that pass over Troy's head... Wasn't that a Monday Night game we lost at home last year? I do know 100% is was this EXACT same weekend since I'm taking the same exact annual flight (unfortunately) to Louisville. I know it was this same weekend, but it is possible it could have been s Sunday game, since I could have come back either Sunday or Monday that same weekend... |

My new baby boy Steelers fan was born at 10:05 am on that day. While momma was resting at the hospital, daddy was watching a 38-7 beatdown of the Ravens by the Steelers! 75th Anniversary Steelers game and a new Steelers fan was brought into this world! He is now 2 years and 4 days old and will be watching the Steelers win another game tonight! HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO! |
