Running back Willie Parker was not at practice on Monday, sent home with an illness.

“He was running a fever so we sent him to the docs,” said Tomlin. “We didn’t want him to deliver anything to anybody else. I anticipate him being fine.”

Also missing practice were linebacker Lawrence Timmons (ankle) and defensive end Travis Kirschke (calf), who were both injured against the Minnesota Vikings.

“Both of those guys are questionable here at this point,” said Tomlin. “Again it’s the early part of the week. There is a little bit more optimism in regards to Lawrence than Travis at this point. We’ll let it play out as we always do.”

* * * The Steelers signed tight end Eugene Bright to their practice squad and released tight end Kevin Brock.

Eugene Bright??

I have a Fever said Parker and I think its related to his Toe,Ankle,Knee, and Back if he can miss practice no one gets to see how hurt he is ..........They will probably hold him out of practice until later in the Week and at that point you only go 50% as a Team to rest up for the game so once again Parker will be of no use this game if needed..........

Most concerned about Kirschke.. we're already thin at the position.

Why would we sign another TE??? Johnson has impressed his rookie year..

Why not sign a DE???

Practice squad guys are not always guys you want to be on your team.  Sometimes they just fill a role for your D to practice against.  Run the opponents plays...and challenge your D.

I think Spaeth is on his way out next year,I think that we are looking to find that #3 whether it be Mchugh,Summers,or whoever they bring in ,but IMO Spaeth is as good as gone......

Spaeth is a backup for Miller.  All these other guys are fullback/tight-end types, more useful for running.  Even if he is gone, it's not going to be because of one of these guys.

That's fine as long as he's ok for a playoff run I really could care less.  Mendenhall needs some touches anyways.

That could be true so maybe they are looking for that guy now or either they go with Miller,Johson, and a TE/FB type as a bu.......

I don't think that Parker will be ready and I wish the Team would look in the Stable ,because it is almost certain that we will need another RB active before the year is out,so if Parker is not ready why does the Team keep covering for him and why waste those spell Mendenhall carries on  wounded Willie we know what he can do ,why not see what Vincent or Redman have to offer and I think both are a better option than Parker if he is hurt..........
