I had no problem with that remark of his after the SB. He said from the get go that his dream was to be a great player. So when a young guy like that makes a dramatic catch that produces a Super Bowl winning score, why wouldn't he be excited? I agree he's plenty willing to bask in the limelight, but I don't see the kind of arrogance there that forgets he's part of an entire team. He's just living his dream. Maybe I'm wrong but we have plenty of time to find out. |

I think alot will depend on whether the Team can win more Superbowls between now and 2011,if he can get enough hardware and endorsements from being on a Power house Team he might not want or need to leave for the money, the flip side is if we are not winning Superbowls between now and then and a Team that is offers him a big pay day he might take it........... |

quoting SteelHack: quoting sdSteeler7: really? didnt know that, then hopefully he takes a discount to stay a steeler. I know I would if i was him. When Holmes was drafted he actually had family members wearing Steeler gear long before his name was called as the Steelers 1st round pick His first interview was in a room in his house that had Steeler stuff all over. I obviously could be wrong on this...but I am pretty sure I am not. HACK Yup, I remember the ESPN coverage when he was selected; there was a lot of black and gold in the room. I remember so vividly because I was thinking ''Who is this WR they selected instead of Mangold?'' So far so good. Oh, and I think he's the next long-time Steeler on this offense. He'll play with this team into his 30's. A lot of Hines' work ethic has worn off on him and he'll as_sume more of a leadership role as he matures.

We thought Troy would leave too, but he didnt, he could have gotten at least 10 million more than the 35 he got for staying here. Some players have more team dedication than they get credit for, Troy is one of those guys and I think Holmes likes his team mates and he likes being a Steeler, getting him signed might be a little like getting Ward signed with a little grumbling but in the end it gets done, Troy was a piece of cake, he liked it here and decided more money isnt everything, and, Troy likes Lebeau a lot so that had to be key in his decision to stay here as well....... |

quoting 58CurtainCall!: With an uncapped league in the very near future consider $antonio gone. If that UNCAPPED LEAGUE arrives...its not going to be the all paying league the players think.....as the owners can pay as much....or as little as they like. Tone has not put up the #'s to get the contract everyone thinks he is going to want.....Tone has never hit 1000 yards yet....and there is a lot of guys who have hit 1000...that don't get that kind of money. No. It's all about the benjamins so Holmes will walk. I'd look for Wallace to take his spot and for Sweed to take over Wallace's spot. Of course that depends on how Sweed develops...he CAN be such a weapon! |
