I know hes not a free agent til 2011 but I was thinking about holmes situation about how he has that superbowl mvp and is starting to break out. Do you think santonio will be locked up long term or will he be another plaxico and seek more money? I think he will get locked up because Ward is 33, so in 2011 he will 35 and likely not be a number 1 receiver anymore and holmes can be and will only be 27 in 2011

I think he'll go where the money is.

My first thought would be he is gone,  but then I remembered he was a Steeler fan growing up....so that might help.

Money talks BS walks. If we can offer him a competitive contract I am sure he will stay. If he can get more years and more money elsewhere I am sure he will move on. Only a retard wouldn't.

When Holmes was drafted he actually had family members wearing Steeler gear long before his name was called as the Steelers 1st round pick

His first interview was in a room in his house that had Steeler stuff all over.

I obviously could be wrong on this...but I am pretty sure I am not.

I think he won't accept anything less than market value,

Meaning he will want to be paid in the top 10% of WR in the league.

He has a good relationship with Ben, so I think it will have more to do with what Wallace continues to do and whether Tone gets the action or not.
My thoughts are that he stays.

Watch him when he scores.......he promotes himself....even when he gets a big play he is all about his own glory. When he made that catch in the SB he kept saying on the sidelines while pounding his chest..' that's how you be great''

He will definately test the market on his next contract and I doubt the Steelers pay him. His market price will be sky high and we have cheaper guys already in the mix.

Enjoy him here while you can.
