quoting AFan: quoting lersgofor6: quoting wardismvp: J Peezy couldn't wear Greg Lloyd jock strap.
really??? i think you mistaked here...
LLoyd 10 years 54.5 career sacks 11 ints afc def mvp 1994 0 rings 1 gun in his sons mouth
Peezy 8 years 60 sacks 10 ints 1 td 1 ring
so im not saying i didnt love lloyd its just that you cant say peezy couldnt hold lloyds jock because thats crap
You leave out one key stat, a rather important one for an LB. Tackles... Looking it up and I'm missing two years for Greg Lloyd (1988, 1992). Lloyd had 647 tackles, Joey Porter 451. 1988 was Lloyds first year he played 9 games. In 91, Lloyd had 76 tackles, and in '93 had 111. So it safe to say Lloyd probably had 70-80 tackles in '92. So Greg Lloyd probably had 250 moret tackes than Joey, which comes to about 1.5 more each/every game over 10 yrs. My recollection tells me that Lloyd was a better LB than Joey. But I think he was also a much bigger jerk. i dont know some say porter is a pretty big jerk just ask kellen winslow...regardless ..they were both great steelers backers..and i loved them both too bad they couldnt have lined up on opposite sides...now that would be scary |

quoting philliu: I think it was about 9 years ago when Lloyd was released from the Steelers and I was totally devasted. But looking back, I realized that Lloyd's career was over and they made the correct move and I think it's the same situation with Porter. I think the way the game is played today, teams have to replace aging players with new young talents. Greg Lloyd was my favorite player, and I was crushed when he got cut. After he got cut, I noticed a player wearing the number 95. Soon afterwards that kid changed his number to 55 because he wanted to make a name for himself and not be shadowed with the jersey 95. He became my new favorite player. Again I am crushed. I hate to see Joey go, but from years past, we all know that the Steelers know when a linebacker is past his prime. And Joey is there. Its time to move one, and I'm hoping someone in the 3rd or 4th round gets drafted to replace Joey. Its time to move on, and i'm ready to buy another jersey. You will be missed you Joey. |

They were both GREAT Pittsburgh Steelers! It serves no purpose to compare the two. Let's start talking about who the next great LB will be to follow in their footsteps. |

quoting Joe Poluka: Man enough with the gun in the sons mouth crap I don't know, I'd say that its a defining moment in Greg Lloyds life. More important that anything he did or didn't do on the field. |
