I think it was about 9 years ago when Lloyd was released from the Steelers and I was totally devasted. But looking back, I realized that Lloyd's career was over and they made the correct move and I think it's the same situation with Porter. I think the way the game is played today, teams have to replace aging players with new young talents. |

Greg Lloyd stuck a gun in his kids mouth and Joey got a cap popped in his a s s. Only similarities I really see. Both were very agressive though. |

quoting SB5_Got_It: I believe Lloyd had a serious knee injury before he got released. I don't think Joey has had any criminal charges against him. I think their style of play is somewhat similar.
Gregg had a lingering Staph infection that took a toll on him. Gregg also backed up everything that he said EVERY time. Joey was tough and a great leader, but Gregg had more impact. |

That staph infection nearly killed Greg. Shame. It ruined his career. But Greg most certainly did walk the walk. LOL, I remember his predicting he'd knock Dan Marino out of the game a few days before they played Miami... and then he did exactly that.

Gregg Lloyd was a bigger force coming off the corner, he was also just as fast, but much taller and stronger. Nothing against Porter, but Lloyd was better in my opinion. |

You leave out one key stat, a rather important one for an LB. Tackles... Looking it up and I'm missing two years for Greg Lloyd (1988, 1992). Lloyd had 647 tackles, Joey Porter 451. 1988 was Lloyds first year he played 9 games. In 91, Lloyd had 76 tackles, and in '93 had 111. So it safe to say Lloyd probably had 70-80 tackles in '92. So Greg Lloyd probably had 250 moret tackes than Joey, which comes to about 1.5 more each/every game over 10 yrs. My recollection tells me that Lloyd was a better LB than Joey. But I think he was also a much bigger jerk.
